A few headlines from a recent internet search on K-12 relief funding in schools include “What Congressional Covid Funding Means for K-12 Schools,” “States Scramble to Disburse K-12 Relief Funds Ahead of Deadline,” and “States are Waffling Over Billions in K-12 Federal Relief. Schools Are Getting Antsy.” Clearly, educators want clear-cut information on funding including how much, ways to use it, and when to expect it.

Dr. Dom Gemeinhardt, Director of Strategic Grants and Finance Development at Boxlight, has extensive experience helping districts and schools with their grant and proposal efforts, navigating the language of funding information and applications to help them understand what is needed. He will be part of an upcoming panel that will talk about teaching and learning solutions available to meet the many criteria of the recent federal funding (CARES Act, Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act or CRRSAA, and American Rescue Plan). The webinar is titled Act on Relief Funding Now – How It Can Be Used to Address Learning Loss and Meet Student Needs will be held on Monday, May 24 at 2:00 P.M. ET. Dr. Gemeinhardt will explain why time is critical when applying for funds as many districts need to report their needs by the end of July 2021.

The other members of the education panel include:

  • Alex Leis, founder and CEO of Boxlight-EOS Education, a leading provider of professional development services to educators and school administrators. Dr. Leis will talk more on customizing professional development to support educators who are trying to help their students bridge gaps caused by remote instruction.
  • Hannah Olson, STEM Product Manager at Boxlight and co-founder of MyStemKits.com, a suite of STEM-focused curriculum. Olson will speak about the value of bringing STEM education into the classroom and how it can be done simply with turnkey solutions so that teachers are not bogged down with a steep learning curve.
  • Aleasha Stevens, Boxlight Education Consultant, will moderate the discussion. Stevens currently facilitates education technology learning experiences via the Boxlight Virtual Classroom. With her many years of in-classroom teaching, including certifications as a reading specialist and classroom management specialist, she has the skill to guide the discussion.

The information that will be presented at this upcoming edLeader Panel is valuable as education decision-makers prepare to submit funding applications. Don't miss out on this opportunity to help your school or district get what it needs to improve student learning. Register today: Act on Relief Funding Now
