Ord Public Schools (Ord, NE) serve 550 students in K-12 from four different counties. Ord has consistently worked to raise the bar when it comes to learning for its students. For example, Ord Elementary was selected as a 2013 National Blue Ribbon School for its high standards of Academic Learning and achievement. In addition, Ord Junior-Senior High School strives to provide its students with a comprehensive educational experience. To align its academic goals for continued student achievement and success, Ord has implemented educational technology to meet the needs of this generation of digital learners such as 1:1 Chromebooks.
After an introduction by Boxlight partner, Computer Hardware Inc, Ord invested in the award-winning ProColor interactive displays. What are a few standout features of the ProColor?
- The 4K ultra-high definition LCD display produces clear and vivid pictures so that activities, images, and web applications are bright and attractive.
- MimioStudio™ classroom software allows teachers to build and present unique, interactive lessons quickly and simply which helps them better meet student learning needs and styles.
- Simple-to-use but with cutting-edge features so teachers of various comfort and skill levels are empowered and confident about using it.
How do Ord teachers feel about this innovative technology? Heidy Moody, 2nd grade teacher at Ord Elementary School comments, “I love using (my ProColor interactive display) throughout the day to display things or use it as a whiteboard. I use the timer feature all the time and am exploring using a document camera on it as well. Our school is lucky to have them!”
Mike Bechtold, Technology Coordinator for Ord, says, “The ease-of-use is what I love about them. If you have a phone or tablet, you have the knowledge necessary to get started.”
The cutting-edge, yet user-friendly, design of the ProColor has been a hit with Ord staff and students and there has been an increased use of the interactive displays.
